We are happy to announce another set of new features. We think they will give you a better user experience and allow you to keep creating powerful online forms. We have highlighted the new changes below with along with screen shots. Feel free to comment below and let us know what you think or send us a note through our contact form.

Supporting text for fields

You often need to provide directions to users next to your field labels, and until now you would have had to add that text using the section text tool. When creating a new field there is a new “supporting text” option below the “label.” Add the message you want in the supporting text area like this:

When your form is displayed, the text will be displayed like this:

Custom submit button text

Now you can easily customize your form’s submit buttons from within the form builder. Look near the bottom of the left-hand control panel for the “Submit Button Text” section, then click the button to change the text from the default. This will allow you to create a customized message like “Click to place order”

Separate labels and values for options

We’ve made it easier for you to use separate option values for select lists, checkboxes and radio buttons. You will probably need to use this if you’re using calculating fields, or if you just want to store additional information with your form submission that does not get displayed to users.

The example below shows options configured for a field that presents users with a list of conferences they can attend. The values contain the cost of each conference, which can be used to calculate the total price on an order.

You can also choose what data should be saved in the database and sent via notification emails when the form is submitted – option labels, values, or both.

Custom notification emails

We have added the ability for you to customize the notification email that gets sent to you when someone submits a form. This is helpful if you want to format the data you receive in the email, or only want to include values from a few of the fields on your form, especially useful if you have long forms or just need certain data for quick reviews.

Look in Settings > Collecting Data > Notification Contents for the option to change the message. This is similar to the way you can customize auto-responders that are sent to those who fill out the form – enter your text in the message field, and include placeholders into the message where you want field values to be inserted.

Reset and disable share URLs

In the data area, share URLs provide the functionality for you to let others view submitted data through a unique private URL, but without giving them a username and password. You can now easily turn on or off that private URL for each form. Look in the Data > Share to find that new option.

You can also reset the unique URLs by turning them off then on again. This will generate a new URL for you to provide others, and invalidate the old one.

Hide inactive forms

On your main admin page, there’s a new option to show or hide inactive forms. If you have a lot of forms in your account, this will help cut back the list of forms you see.
