New Form Builder Layout

Hopefully most of you have had a chance to log in to your account and take a look at the changes to the form builder that we recently launched.  Once you do you will notice that all the same features you’ve grown to love are still there, but we’ve moved a few things around a bit to make room for our ever-growing feature list.  The old layout was holding us back a bit, as we were running out of room to add new field types and features.  Also, the form builder really wasn’t wide enough to easily work with multi-column forms.

Don’t Forget The Emergency Contact Form

Spring is here and that means the spring/summer sports leagues are kicking into high gear. We have a wide variety of sports and rec leagues who already use FormSpring for online registration/sign up forms and one big issue that many leagues have is getting the players and their families to fill out the necessary forms and turn them in the first day of practice.

Are Your Forms Secure?

If you’re using your a FormSpring form to accept sensitive data, such as credit cards or social security numbers, you must enable all of our security features in order to protect your data. These security features are not enabled by default and are only available on paid plans at the Professional level or higher. The security features available to you are SSL, PGP and data encryption.

Google Checkout and Nonprofits

Checkboxes vs. Radio Buttons vs. Select Lists

A common mistake we often see people making on their forms is the use of checkboxes instead of radio buttons. If you are asking a yes/no question or any question where you only want one answer, you should never use a checkbox field. The reason for this being that a checkbox field will allow a user to check both “yes” and “no” on your form. A radio button, on the other hand, forces the user to choose only a single response, “yes” or “no”.
